Why choose the Watersports Center?
To say that there are only highly qualified instructors and brand new, state-of-the-art equipment seems perhaps obvious to us, because it should be the norm...
Choosing Watersports Center means, more than anything else, joining a family. Joining a group of friends who share the same passion (or rather, obsession 😂) for wind and waves.
With us, you will never feel abandoned, because we follow our students even after the course: you never stop learning!
In addition, 2-3 times a year we organize trips around the world to go have fun all together in search of the wind... and why not, some good local food too!
The beauty of the spot: why kitesurfing on Lake Como is a MUST?
Ah, Lake Como! Imagine launching yourself on the blue waters with your kite while being enchanted by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains around you.
This place is a real gem for us kitesurfers, a perfect mix of adrenaline and postcard-perfect scenery that seems straight out of a dream.
It's like combining the thrill of sport with a vacation in one of the most picturesque places in Italy. And then, when the sun starts to go down, you find yourself in the middle of a living picture, with the colors of the sunset painting the water and the peaks. It's magical, we assure you!
The characteristic winds of Lake Como
The Lake is mainly influenced by two types of wind, known locally as the "Breva" and the "Tivano."
- The Breva: This is the afternoon wind that blows from south to north along the lake, generally considered the most reliable and constant. The Breva starts blowing around noon or early afternoon and can vary from a light breeze to a stronger wind, ideal for kitesurfing, sailing and other water sports. Its regularity makes it perfect for planning days of activity on the water, offering ideal conditions especially in the summer months;
- The Tivano: This wind blows in the opposite direction of the Breva, from north to south, and is a morning wind that usually starts blowing at dawn and dies down by mid-morning. The Tivano is most frequent during spring and fall and is known to be cooler and stronger than the Breva. These characteristics make it valued by kitesurfers and windsurfers for its intensity.

Kitesurfing is an activity that can be enjoyed by people of any age: from 12 to 85 years old, anyone can approach kiteboarding and learn the correct technique. Although kiteboarding is considered an extreme sport, thanks to the use of increasingly safe and state-of-the-art equipment, it has become accessible to everyone.
A new kitesurf sail costs from 1200€ upwards: the cost obviously depends on the brand and size. For beginners, we always recommend buying used equipment, possibly the same one with which the trainee learns the technique during the course.
